We all have a responsibility to look after the environment, and at Carrington, we began taking accountability for our carbon emissions in 2021. By offsetting our emissions through Ecologi, we have helped fund various global sustainability projects. We have also started a Carrington Forest, where the trees funded will benefit the planet in years to come.
We have pledged to continue reducing our carbon footprint on an annual basis and to become a more sustainable business.
Funding global sustainability projects is important, however, we recognise that we must take active measures in reducing our daily impact, which we have done by:
Reducing our paper consumption by:
- Moving to digital business cards.
- Launching our first carbon neutral edition of the Club magazine in 2022.
- Championing a paperless office utilising digital client files, e-signatures and online forms.
Reducing our energy consumption by:
- Installing sensored lighting and energy efficient light bulbs.
Reducing our travel by:
- Actively using Lime Bikes or public transport rather than taxis when in Central London particularly.
- Cycling or running to work – we are lucky that this is a chosen method of commuting for a number of our team!
Reducing our use of resources by:
- Actively recycling paper, cardboard, glass, plastic waste, printer toner cartridges and coffee pods!
- Discouraging the use of disposable cups and bottles in the office and instead encouraging the use of reusable bottles/cups.
