BUDGET 2025 – HERE’S WHAT WE KNOW…

Welcome to the 2025 Pre-Budget “fireside chat” series!

VideoAs Al has alluded to so eloquently in his video (we hope you like this format!), there is an almost endless amount of supposition happening in the press regarding the contents of the upcoming Budget.

Firstly, we want to reiterate that we shouldn’t be making any big decisions based on hearsay – whether about changes to tax-free cash, capital gains tax on your main residences or anything else that has been bandied around.

Rest assured that as soon as we know of any changes that are going to affect the planning we do, we will be in touch. Everyone’s circumstances are different though and if you are at all concerned that you think you should be doing something, then please do get in touch.

There are, however, changes implemented in the last Budget that do affect planning, and over the next few weeks in advance of the Budget, we are going to delve deeper into those. To give you an idea of what’s coming, these are the topics we want to cover.

  1. Pensions and Retirement – what do the changes to pensions mean in practice?
  2. Inheritance Tax – this is a wider topic and it’s not just pensions that are affected. What’s your current position and how can planning help?
  3. Business Relief – this is perhaps a slightly more niche topic but we think it is useful for you to understand what it is, how it works and who it can help. It could be a discussion to have with older relatives who might need some guidance in this area.

After the Budget, we will of course be in touch with our usual round up of the changes and anything we think that you need to be aware of.

So, for now, sit back and enjoy Al’s Youtube debut!
