Scam Awareness – what to look out for

It’s highly likely we all know someone who has been affected by scams – every day there seems to be a new way for criminals to try to steal your hard-earned money. We have put together a document outlining some of the most common financial scams, together with practical steps you can take to help protect yourself. The key message is to be aware – if something doesn’t look or feel right, it probably isn’t.

With regard to making payments to your platform, one thing mentioned in the document is paying attention to warnings from your Bank when confirming a payee. We will always send payment instructions securely, but if the confirmation is unclear or the details seem to have changed from last time, please call us, and we will verify them over the phone.

We have rigorous processes in place designed to prevent and detect fraud wherever possible. However, fraudsters are becoming increasingly sophisticated, so if you are ever unsure about a message you have received or something you have been asked to do, please contact us straight away so we can help you check it.
